Doubletree Edinburgh City Centre
Ellie and Matt were married in the Penthouse Suite of Doubletree Edinburgh in February 2017. (Formerly The Point Hotel). I was booked to undertake the Wedding Photography at this Edinburgh Wedding Venue. This skybar room has a stunning view of Edinburgh Castle through a wall of glass. While it was totally stunning it actually presented a real challenge: with so much light coming in from behind the couple they would be in complete silhouette when viewed from the front of the room. Luckily the Minister was really relaxed and permitted me to use the occasional flash (so long as it wasn't during the exchange of Vows). Thankfully I was able to get most of the best shots from the side - exchange of rings, the kiss, etc. with the sun shining through on their faces. And I am glad to say that they all turned out looking great. The signing of the registered required some bounce-flash so that it didn't reflect off the glass.
I did dash around the room a bit and also set up a remote camera on a tripod from the opposite side of the room. That way I didn't have to keep dancing back and forth to each side of the room.
All of the edited images can be viewed here.
I was only booked to do Wedding Photography at the Doubletree by Hilton (Edinburgh City Centre) for 2 hours to just cover the Ceremony. But in that time I still managed to take almost 600 photos and deliver over 350 fully edited images to the couple.... The Wedding Photographs were uploaded as they were edited. So the first batch were online for them to view within a few hours of the Ceremony taking place. All of the images were finished and uploaded within 48 hours of the Wedding - both as Colour and Black and White versions.
